Here’s a List of Literary Characters Who Can’t Be Re-imagined

PREACH, BC!

Fortunately, creative people will never stop tinkering and doing what they do.

Seriously, the idea that literary characters are somehow unable to be played with is insane.

You know what would be gone from the world of literature without such play?

  • Every hero since Gilgamesh.
  • Every heroine since Antigone.
  • Every detective since Auguste Dupin. Yes, that means your precious Sherlock too.
  • All of Chaucer, Marlowe, and Shakespeare.

In short, very little written since, what Homer? Play is good. Play is creative.
