I swear, jazz musicians are some of the most dapper people alive.

Or, in the case of Miles Davis, the most dapper person dead since 1991.

Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin duo performance of Monk’s classic, “Round Midnight.”

Gorgeous. There are many great singers out there, but most aren’t truly musical with their singing. Bobby is a prime example of a singer with a complex understanding of musicality. And I don’t need to say anything on Chick Corea; he’ll never stop blowing my mind.

"How drunk would the guy who wrote the Batman theme had to have been to pitch that? They’d ask him how he came up with it, and he’d be like, “Well, I pounded out the first Na. Then Paul—he added a second Na, and we just ran with it—going back and forth, back and forth, feeding off each other you know. Then Jerry from accounting actually came in at one point and yelled, ‘Batman!’ And we were like, that’s it. That’s the song."

Not to ruin the fun (proceeds to do so anyway), but that theme was actually written by a brilliant jazz composer by the name of Neal Hefti. He also wrote the theme to The Odd Couple and some famous arrangements for Count Basie.

This has been a public service announcement on behalf of Music Nerds Incorporated
